[sci.electronics] DAK CD ROM offer : questions

jon_sree@world.std.com (Jon Sreekanth) (12/18/90)

I'm sure this topic was discussed before, but I didn't follow it then. If
anyone saved the discussion, I'd appreciate a copy.

Two main questions :

Is DAK's money-back guarantee iron-clad, and does it apply to the software
	(i.e. cdrom's here)

What is the model number and specs (seek time, etc) on the external cdrom
drive ? The ad had the typical glowing plugs for the softwware, but
was conspicuously silent on description of the hardware.

Finally, other misc. opinions : satisfaction / dissatisfaction about the
hardware, software, shipping, (are they backlogged ?) billing, etc.

Thanks much,

I have returned two items to DAK that I decided not to keep for one reason
or another. If you don't damage the merchandise, there is no problem
whatever with returns. You can even return it if you decide the color
does not match the color scheme of the room.

On the back of the invoice is a section to fill out stating why you are
returning the merchandise, as well as how you want the refund applied.
You can have a cash refund or have it credited towards purchase of another
item. They even include a preaddressed mailing label for returns.

Their customer service, from my experience, is excellent. If they had
higher quality merchandise (high end stuff), then I would buy much more
from them.

I ordered the external drive late last week. They said they had it in stock,
and I should have it in 1 - 2 weeks. I'll report my experiences.
