[sci.electronics] Fisher Price PXL 2000 Camcorder interface

wli@fornax.UUCP (William Li) (01/23/91)

I am desperately in need of information on the interface for
this camera. If anyone has the file, could they please mail or
otherwise convey it to me? The original file was posted by
Jan Mark Nowrolski on someplace called NETSCI.Electron, with
the following header:

After receiving at least 25 requests for the information I am posting.
(flames, comments and questions should be directed to me before tuesday night,
after which you'll have to wait a month)
I'm sorry I cannot personally acknowledge each request, but I wish you all
happy hacking!

The following is a description of how to interface the Kiddie Camcorder to
an IBM PC bus. If you don't care about IBM Buses it should prove useful
for identifying the location of digital signals inside the camera itself.

A simple program to display images from the camera on the PC screen is
also enclosed. A schematic of the interface is enclosed in 4 formats- orcad,
postscript (funny looking- but recognizable), hpgl, and epson.

To use this file uudecode it, decompress it, and untar it.
(please don't ask me how to uudecode, decompress or untar).
(note that the text is in IBM PC format- so UN*X heads may need to filter
it to get rid of the ^M's)

Cheapo filter: Just read it into jove, or emacs and then save it.

Unfortunately, the rest of the uuencoded, compressed, tarred file managed
to self-munge by the time I got to it. My attempts to contact Noworolski
at jmn@cancun.berkeley.edu have all bounced. If you have this file or know
where I can get a hold of the file, I would really appreciate it.
The file should contain, in addition to the header, a number of postscript
format schematics and technical docs.

Thanks in advance.
