I am currently looking for an oscilloscope at around $1500 range. The basic features should include a 50MHz bandwidth and a delay sweep mode (maybe). I have looked at the Tektronix scopes. However, most of them are just too expensive. The only one I will consider is the model 2225 which has a 50MHz bandwidth but doesn't have a delay sweep mode. Instead it has a 3-way alternate magnification mode (x5, x10, x50). My questions are how important is the delay sweep? Can the alternate magnification mode replace the delay sweep? Are there any other Tektronix scopes fall into my price range and requirement? Beside Tektronix, what other brands should I consider? I'm an electrical engineering major. My applications will include both digital and analog. Any ssuggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
