[sci.electronics] Home Security Sources?

xxrich@alliant1.lerc.nasa.gov (Rich Rinehart) (01/31/91)

Does anyone have any recommended sources for home security hardware?
The only source I have is MCM Electronics.

Thanks!

I've been pleased with my Ademco equipment. They sell virtually everything
relating to home and commercial security systems, and I haven't had any
problems with any of it. As a matter of fact, the only false alarm I've
had in the last two years was when I forgot to shut the basement door and
our 10 pound dog went downstairs and tripped the motion detector. The
sensitivity of those passive IR's is pretty good. :-)

I bought mine from a local dealer (Corporate Security Systems, Lakeville MN
612-469-3034) and installed it myself. I bought the Vista 4140 with a
5137 keypad, and some smoke, motion and reed switch door sensors, all hard
wired. (I just can't bring myself to trust wireless yet...)

Ob.disclaimer: No relationships exist between CSS or Ademco and myself.

-j, just a satisfied customer.
