(sorry, I can't get mail to you at "felix!dennisg" - is there another address?? -mike) Hi, >>- sounder/interface [...] >I'm interested in getting one of these, but it didn't look like it was on >sale, like the rest of the X-10 ("Plug-N-Power") stuff this month. How >much did it cost you? about $19, it wasn't on sale but looked neat. I haven't used it for anything yet. I remember the "old" mini-controller that RS used to seel, with the seperate ON/OFF buttons; I had one for a few years, and eventually built an interface to my VIC-20 for it, using opto-isolators! I recently purchased the CP-290 X-10 interface with a serial port, and that seems like a pretty good unit for what I want to do, but it would have been nice if it also sent the X-10 data that was present on the powerline over the serial port back to the computer. >Although I have one of the TW-523 two-way power-line interface modules, I can >not recommend it in good conscience. The interface is much tougher than it need >be, it costs too much, and it has been castrated so that a large and useful >subset of the X-10 commands cannot be received (you can send anyhting you want). How does it work? What do you get out of it? A bit stream? How did they castrate it? mike -- Won't look like rain, Won't look like snow, | DOD #000007 Won't look like fog, That's all we know! | AMA #511250 We just can't tell you anymore, We've never made oobleck before! | MSC #298726
