I am interested in building a hand-held battery-powered Part 15 FM transmitter for 1800 Baud teletype FSK communications. I would like to minimize the effort in putting together the transmitter so I am interested in using a single chip solution if possible. Employing the BA1404 FM stereo transmitter chip (Rohm, Inc.) would involve overkill since stereo transmission is not necessary. Does anyone have any recommendations regarding FM transmitter chips (of a sort that might compliment the TDA7000 FM receiver chip)?; or, can anyone recommend sources of "minimum number of component" solutions for FM transmitters. Thank You In Advance, John V. Jaskolski

Phillips/Signetics makes the TDA7000 (among others?) and I believe their databook may have an app note on it too. As for accompanying FM transmitters look at Motorola. They also have some dandy receiver chips. It might be worth checking out R/C chips (like those from National Semi - LM18??) and garage-door opener chips if you can find any. I suspect you may not find a single-chip solution for your transmitter plus modem. Also, for part-15 (low power, etc...), you don't really need an IC or anything for a transmitter - just look at all the "wireless mic" kits available in Radio-Electronics. -Paul Bame bame@fc.sde.hp.com N0KCL
