I'm trying to put together a inexpensive laptop for a specific application. If I had to do the same thing for a desk top system my task would be really easy: I would buy the motherboard, case, drives, display and power supply that I need and put a system together. Unfortunately in the laptop world things are a lot more complicated since there doesn't seem to be any standards. The components of different vendors don't match and you can't just put a system together by buying the parts. So I'm faced with either buying a low cost laptop and adapting it to my needs or buying parts and trying to put a system together. I looked into that and found out several vendors of pc-xt type of embeded systems that I could use as motherboards. I still have to figure out how to get the flat panel display, and power supply and get it all to work together. Any ideas, or hints are welcome. Thanks in advance Dror
