[sci.electronics] Slashing my wrists over parts ; HELP...SID II

zinder2500@engin.umich.edu (Michael Robert Attan) (02/27/91)

I'm Building a SID II for my Mac, but am at a standstill for 2 parts
It seems that the only place in the world that has heard of either a
TL064 quad op amp, or a 74HC4024 7-bit binary counter is ACTIVE in the
New England area, and they are out of business. does anyone know where I
can get these parts (or their equivalents) quickly? I could go directly
through the makers of the SID II package, but it would take 6 to 8 weeks
for delivery, and I'm REALLY trying to avoid that,
 Thanks,
 zinder2500@aal.itd.umich.edu

Call Jameco Electronics (415) 592 8097. They're pretty quick about delivery
and they show the following in their catalog:
	74HC4024 7-Stage ripple carry counter $0.69
	TL064CN Low-Power JFET input OP-AMP $1.49

Looks like they have a $25.00 minimum order, however.

Jameco now has a $50 minimum order...

Sorry about that, the computer ate the important text of my last post. Anyhow
I was saying that Jameco actually now has a minimum order of $50.00, not
$25.00 and seems to be tending more towards selling computer items rather
than actual individual parts...

Funny, I got a catalog in the mail from ACTIVE yesterday. The phone number
for the telemarketing department is 800-677-8899 and the Mass store
is 617-932-4616.

The part number for the 74HC4024 is 16353 ($0.53) and the TL064ACN and
TL064CN (??) are ordered by their own number ($0.66 and $1.79)

Check again. They have a *** $50 *** minimum. They used to be such a
good place to buy bits and pieces before they went into PC clones.
