[sci.electronics] Source for Radio homebrew parts...

whinery@hale.ifa.hawaii.edu (Alan Whinery) (02/26/91)

What is a good mail-order house for hf & vhf parts for homebrewing?
All of my old standby parts places are waxing digital these days.

I want to have access to coil forms, vhf transistors, useful ICs,
caps, etc.

Digi-Key (1-800-DIGIKEY) is getting more and more into RF parts.
They have a lot of Toko inductors, variable capacitors, crystal filters,
and some interesting ICs (including the Signetics NE602N mixer-oscillator).

Here's a posting from rec.ham-radio about a year ago. The RadioKit
catalog is particularly luscious - lots of air variables, vernier dial
drives, coil forms, miniductor, all that real radio stuff. Good luck.

Two minor changes:

>> Radiokit (store is located at:)
>> P.O.Box 973 15 Londonderry Rd.
>> Pelham NH 03076 Londonderry NH 03053
>> (603) 437-2722

They've moved (they seem to do that a lot); the PO box is the same, but
the store is "now" (last I heard, anyway) at 169 Jeremy Hill Rd.,
Pelham NH 03076, (603) 635-2235.

>> John Woods, Charles River Data Systems, Framingham MA, (508) 626-1101
>> ...!decvax!frog!john, john@frog.UUCP, ...!mit-eddie!jfw, jfw@eddie.mit.edu

These addresses still work, but I'm now at jfw@KSR.COM.

Sometime soon I'll add my latest catalog acquisitions to the list and repost
it.
