I need help here. There is a guy at my church that is on my back about designing a dog collar zapper for training purposes. He thinks I'm some whiz at electronics (I'm just a repair tech, for crying out loud). anyway, he refuses to pay the $190+ prices for them, and he asked me if I knew how to do it. I have no idea. I'd probably try to tie together a little FM radio tx/rx pair from chips that can handle that, but I have no idea how to go about bringing 9 volts up to some voltage to stun the dogs momentarily, and provide it in a small package to fit on the dogs' neck. Am I wrong in thinking that it is a shocking collar, or is it one that blasts out high frequency sound? Anyway, I know he's going to be after me for awhile on this (and "No" doesn't seem to be in his vocabulary). I like dogs, and have no intention of doing anything to any local dogs (cats, yes - but no dogs). He says he has trained them in the past, and wants to get into it again, but find it hard to believe that you need this type of equipment to train dogs. But then, I don't know. Can anybody give me any clues as to how I should go about this? -- "You're beautiful and angular!
