A friend of mine needs some help modifying a product to be compatable with "Night Vision Goggles". These are the things military and night-rescue pilots wear to see at night. The product has a EL-backlit LCD display. He is willing to hire someone as a consultant if they have demonstrated skills in this area. If anyone has any knowledge/experience in this area please call: Mark Lemmon (503) 286-4956 or email me at: kenh@pogo.wv.tek.com p.s. out of curiosity, how do NVGs work, and what is the wavelength of peak sensitivity, bandwidth, etc.

I worked on with these some years back at Lenzar Optics. Unless your "friend" can produce a bill of sale, I'd consider them STOLEN! This IS (or at least WAS) very sensitive military technology!

I don't know what kind of night vision stuff he has (I missed original post). But you can buy night vision goggles, cameras, lenses, etc from Edmund Scientific ALL DAY LONG. They are available to the public. I have a catalog at home. Kent -- /* -The opinions expressed are my own, not my employers. */ /* For I can only express my own opinions. */ /* */ /* Kent L. So now in this land of freedom I should be required to carry a bill of sale with me at all times for all the things I own. Hey man your watch, where is the bill of sale for that, is that stolen? How about the gas in the tank of your car, do you have a bill of sale for that? No, you *must* have stolen it. Probabily from our government. Probabily to aid you in your communist subversive activities. In fact you are probabily a spy. Its good that I found you out and can now execute you before you did any harm to our government. Wake the hell up dude and smell the coffee. The govt *SELLS* EVERYTHING. [flame off] I know of a dude that bought a bunch of "govt scrap at a govt auction". Turns out that there were some valuable (6 figures) Air craft parts that happened to be in the lot he bought. He paid $75 for the entire lot. The govt bought back the aircraft parts for (5 figures) and decided it got a good deal. I am very familiar with Govt auctions and other programs designed to get something back out of equipment that is no longer usefull (for whatever reason). I am an amateur radio operator and a MARS member. I am entitled to pick up surplus equipment from the govt. It is all in my house, legally, I use it for electronic repair, amateur, and MARS operations. I don't have a single recipt. That doesn't *prove* it isn't mine it just proves that I don't have a recipt! peace buzz
