[sci.electronics] Stand-alone Voice Synthesizer

danr@ais.org (Daniel Romanchik) (03/21/91)

Anyone know where I can find a stand-alone voice synthesizer?

I think that there used to be a company called Votrax that made
something like this, but I can't find their address or phone number.

Thanks, Dan (danr@ais.org)

I have (had?) a Votrax; it had an RS-232 port on it, a speaker output and a
volume control. It was called the "Type-And-Talk" or something like that.
This was circa 1982 or so. I seem to remember that Votrax is (was?) in
Troy, Michigan. You can try:

and ask for Votrax in Troy.
