Your 16-pin IC is probably the XR558CP, a quad timer from EXAR. Each timer is independant and can produce a time delay from microseconds to minutes. If it is the XR558CP you should find the logo for EXAR stamped on the IC, it looks like an "X" sitting on top of an "R" (or vice-a-versa). EXAR Corporation 2222 Qume Drive P.O.
