Sorry to get in contact with you this way, but I lost your e-mail address. ->--------------------------------------------> Have a peek at the ->National Semiconductor MM5480 LED driver: it'll drive your 3 digits ->and only needs 2 interface lines to the processor (externally-ROMed ->8051s have 16 I/O lines available).
