[sci.electronics] In search of STS connector type...

devlin@hpavla.avo.hp.com (Lee Devlin) (04/14/91)

I am trying to track down the source for a circular connector for an STS
AV 7600 handheld aviation radio. It is used for the connection of a remote
speaker, push-to-talk switch, and microphone. The STS (Satellite Technology
Service) Company no longer appears to be in business. I have tried
Radio Shack, Newark Electronics, and Digi-Key and have not come up with
a connector type. I thought someone on the net may be some sort of a
connector expert so here is its description:

-- 6 sockets arranged in circular pattern evenly spaced at approx 4mm dia.
-- Holes are sized for very small pins (<.025 in)
-- plastic female receptacle with 5 polarizing 'ears' at 1,2,6,9:30, and
   11 o'clock positions.
-- Threaded exterior (metal) approximately 11mm dia.

If you know where I may find this part, or even its industry trade name
please notify via email.

Thanks,

Lee Devlin
