Background: in some states of the union the simple act of operating a radar detector is deemed a crime. In order to detect this "crime" and to see to its enforcement, some agencies of the government have acquired "radar detector detectors" which are (I suppose) simply sensitive receivers tuned to the local oscillator frequency of both X and K band radar detectors: 11.5 Ghz I would like some clues into the (black) art of microwave oscillator design. There are "off the shelf" oscillators available which meet the second of the two keywords (easy), but are approx $1k in unit quantity, a bit steep for my purpose. Any sugestions or hints would be appreciated. Thanks, -dave
