Step-40 Microcode Development System for Sale --

If you are looking for a high-speed emulator to help you with a
micro-coded project, this system is it.

This instrument features a writable control store of 4K words, 128
bits wide, using 10 ns ECL RAMs. (you can configure it to be any
subset of that size, with either registered or non-registered
outputs.) It also includes a trace module of 4k by 64 channels and a
performance analysis board (for histograms, etc.) All of this
connects via controlled impedance cables to pods which will emulate
your target microcode chips. The entire box connects to a PC (not
included) which can watch the microcode being executed and single step
and also dynamically alter the code. (This feature really cuts down
on the bug find/bug fix/re-compile cycle time.)

We paid nearly $40k for this machine, and it was worth every penny.
Now that the project is over, perhaps someone else can benefit from
being able to interactively debug and fix their microcode. Please
send email or call me to get further information. We would entertain
offers to buy or rent this system from us.

Thanks-
Alan Sieving
