Can anyone out there tell me what would be involved in building on of
the 'Trippers' (as the local FD refers to them) that are used to turn the
traffic lights green. I telephoned my local signal company, and they
wanted ~$1500 for one! Why is it that these things cost so much money?
It merely looks like a light-green strobe light to me.
Can anyone explain the concept and workings behind both the 'tripper'
and the receiver on the signal? Why does that flood light come on when it
trips??
Any help is greatly appreciated.
