I would like to obtain references to articles which critically evaluate the electronic gadgets that places like Radio Shack sell to measure your own blood pressure. I tried a gadget in the local supermarket that does it for free and tried out a portable gadget at Radio Shack and both seem to measure my blood pressure as much lower than I believe it really is (based on recent measurements during visits to my doctor). This makes me wonder whether these devices are any good at all and if so, how one knows whether one is choosing a good one. If you know specific references (Journal, Volume, Year, Pages,e.g.) please let me know. Please reply to me directly since I do not read news. Allan Adler ghot@ms.uky.edu
