[sci.electronics] Electronic Bullet on Cable tv?

youngqd@jacobs.cs.orst.edu (Dean Youngquist) (04/26/91)

I just saw the last bit of a CNN story about an 'electronic bullet'.
This allegedly travels down the cable tv line to 'kill' any 'pirate'
converter/decoder boxes. Does anyone know what this is ? (hoax?)
BTW I don't have a 'pirate box'.

I didn't see the CNN story but the local nosey-paper carried a story on it.
I would like to see some more info on how this works also.
