Computer Scientists Wanted
Lachman Associates, Inc. (LAI) is a systems software development and consulting
firm. We have been in business for over 7 years and employ over 45 consultants
We currently have several openings for computer scientists/system developers
with strong UNIX(tm) backgrounds for a project involving the creation of
an advanced/enhanced version of UNIX(tm). Among the new/enhanced features
to be included in this system are the following:
1) a distributed file system
2) improved networking support
3) multi-processor support
4) micro-processor support
5) new utilities and system calls
Our firm works with many large companies and has opportunities available
on other projects. Some of these are:
1) Development of new, real-time, message-oriented operating systems
that allow Unix(tm) compatibility for applications programs.
2) Development of compilers, assemblers, code optimizers and
code patching systems running under Unix.
3) Perform lead roles in the architecture, design and simulation
of new state-of-the-art VLSI-based processors.
4) Porting Unix commands and utilities to new environments.
We have offices near Chicago, Denver, and New Jersey, with clients located
accross the U.S. We offer excellent salaries and benefits, and in some cases
relocated people from outside the U.S.
We are currently looking for graduates (MS or PhD) in Computer Science
and Computer Engineering -- and in some cases may be able to hire non-US
residents.
