I am about ready to buy a new tenor recorder, but I'm not sure of a couple of things. 1) In ascending order of price (ranging from $150-$560) I have the choice of the following woods: maple, cherry, boxwood, rosewood amd blackwood(ebony). I have played maple recoreders before, and own a soprano maple (my other three recorders are pearwood). I am curious about the other woods and am wondering what differences there are in their sound and care from what I'm already used to playing. 2) I am familiar with recorders by Moeck, Hohner and Adler, but one of the recorders I asked about was made by a company called Zenon(?). Is this manufacturer any good? Your replies are appreciated. Please send mail to me. Thanks. Jim Collymore
