[sci.electronics] Transistor equivalents...

svaldez@sdcc13.ucsd.edu (Basshead ) (05/12/91)

I need to obtain some replacement transistors for a
project that I have and I haven't been able to find
equivalents for the two following transistors:

A966A and a C2236A

My local electronics supplier hasn't been able to find
an equivalent for these two devices -- anyone have any
ideas on what I could substitute? - these are used in
an audio amp...

Looks like a 2SA966A and 2SC2236A. MCM Electronics should sell them. Their
number is 1-800-543-4330. They sell them by the numbers above, but if you
order them by their ECG number, they are a bit cheaper. I think they can
tell you what the substitutes are.

hope this helps.

I think if you put a "2S" before each of your numbers you will find that they are Japanese transistors. The Japs, as a rule, do not put the 2S on there transistors. I suspect you can find a replacement in the RCA SK series or the Sylvania ECG series of replacements. Good Luck!
