OK, this is a very basic question, which I can *probably* get answered if I call the number in my local paper's TV section, but why deprive netters the pleasure of helping a colleague? I've got cable, which transposes most of the channels into new numbered positions. 54 comes in on 19,... etc. I'm sure they have their reasons for doing this, but I bet they're lousy reasons. My question is, can I program channel aliases into the VCR+? I don't want to get the ant races or the Home Shopping Club when I'm trying to record the Simpsons or other such mind expanding fare. Also, how different are VCR control codes, brand-to-brand? Is the VCR+ yet another device that supposedly needs to be taught how to speak IRese? tonya@sid.hp.com
