[sci.electronics] Cabletron ST500 schematic/info wanted

durham@w2xo.pgh.pa.us (Jim Durham) (05/27/91)

Gee, I've had such good luck on this group recently hunting
down some hard-to-find schematics, I thought I'd try for
the supposedly impossible. I have a broken ST500 Cabletron
Ethernet Transceiver. Anyone have any documentation? Cabletron
wants over 100 bucks to repair it, which is almost what it's
worth new.

Thanks for reading!

Here's how to get a schematic of an Ethernet transceiver: Look at the
chips in it (probably National Semiconductor) and write to the chip
manufacturer. They give a circuit to be used with a particular chip set.
The transceiver will probably be very, very close to this circuit.
