[sci.electronics] Miniscribe Harddrive information

phil@adam.adelaide.edu.au (Phil Kernick) (05/29/91)

I have got a 3 Miniscribe harddrives that I cannot identify.
They have the following model numbers

     3650
     8051A
     9380E

I need to know the electronic interface (ST506/IDE/SCSI/ESDI/etc) and
the number of heads/tracks/sectors for each drive.

Thanks,
Phil.

Call up Maxtor/Miniscribe at 800 356-5333. You can get free technical
literature on any of their products.

Don't know about the first two, but the last is an ESDI drive.
15 heads, 1224 cylinders, 35 sector/track. I'm looking to buy one of
those if you'd like to sell it....

the 3650 is MFM, the 8051A is RLL (I think).

Call 1-800-555-1212 and get the number for MAXTOR. They bought
MiniScribe out and they are supporting the drives. (You can get the
physical info about the drives from them).
