[sci.electronics] Camera on a chip - see it and believe it

whb@castle.ed.ac.uk (H Bruce) (06/01/91)

Prof. Peter Denyer and colleagues at Edinburgh University have demonstrated
quality imaging on an industry-standard 2-metal CMOS process. They have
combined a robust 90,000-pixel sensor array with all analog & digital support
circuits to create an autoexposing 625-line 50Hz standard monochrome camera -
+5v and 12MHz in, video out. A commercial arrangement for this device will be
announced shortly - it isn't appropriate to discuss pricing on the news net.
