#R:iuvax:1600002:inmet:9800020:000:1411 inmet!scarton Jan 7 00:12:00 1984 I don't know the breeders of Irish Wolfhounds, but the way to find breeders is simple. First, go to one or more AKC santioned shows where the Wolfhound is being shown. If possible, make it a benched show since the exhibitors are required to have their dogs on their assigned bench during specific hours (makes it easy to find the people that you want to talk to). Ask them about breeders, prices, etc. Find a breeder that raises dogs in a fashion that you the feel comfortable with (I require that lots of time be spent with the puppies socializing them, for example). Most breeders will work out an installment plan, so maybe you don't have to worry as much about price. In addition, the following periodicals list breeders: Dog World (Available at most pet shops) Maclean Hunter Publishing Corp 300 West Adams Street Chicago, IL 60606 (312) 726-2802 Pure-Bred Dogs American Kennel Gazette 51 Madison Avenue New York, NY 10010 (212) 696-8200 The Irish Wolfhound Quarterly Hoflin Publishing Ltd. 4401 Zephyr St. Wheat Ridge, CO 80033-3299 The quarterly is the best source of information on breeders and shows, naturally. Finally, there may even be a club in your area for people owning Wolfhounds. Ask around at the shows. Mark A.
