[sci.electronics] Precision Micro Control

mjb@netcom.COM (Martin Brown) (06/28/91)

I noticed an advertisement in Circuit Cellar Ink for an 8-axis programmable
motion controller, the dcx-pc from Precision Micro Control Corporation of
San Diego.
The dcx-pc is a pc/xt/at compatible full size board that has:

room for 1-8 plug in modules: dc servo, stepper, or special purpose.
used stand alone via RS232 and/or IEEE-488 interface modules
high level interface libraries for C and BASIC.

Has anyone had any experience with this product? This company?

Can you suggest any other similar motion control boards?

Features of particular interest to me are:

controllable via serial or parallel interface
         high level interface libraries
         ease of programming
         and, of course, reasonable price.

Thanx for any suggestions you might have?
