Could you guys grow up already?? I could care less if there is a PRIMOS newsgroup. I don't use it, never have used it, and probably never will use it. If you guys want a group, then go for it. HOWEVER...welcome to the real world of Usenet. One of the very few rules that UseNet has is that there are procedures to follow when you want a new newsgroup. If you want the latest discussion of these rules, or don't think they are fair, then jump on misc.admin. The subject is being beaten to death. So if you want to get a newsgroup, all you have to do is FOLLOW THE RULES. And get enough votes. Judging from the number of PRIMOS questions in this group, you won't. I've been reading for about 3 years and only remeber a few dozen. Perhaps you purposes would be better suited by subscribing to the PRIMOS mailing list (I assume you already have). Now as far as this rediculous flame war...telling someone they aren't following the rules is NOT a flame, so don't try to link your ignorance of procedure to the fact that someone happens not to like your point of view. If there is such a great and pressing need to discuss PRIMOS, them there will be enough votes for the group. Otherwise, there is no need to take up the namespace. As mentioned earlier, the mailing list format is adequate for many needs. Also, one poster wined that there were protien and bondage groups. Check you facts. The 'bionet' hierarchy is separate from UseNet and is carried by a limited number of machines. The 'alt' heirarchy is also separate from UseNet and has no rules for group creation. I also understand that the bondage group is VERY active, so there seems to be a 'need' for it...;') In any case, neither one of these examples has ANY bearing on what is going on here in comp.os.misc. So come on guys, cut the flames. Follow the rules. Good luck on getting your newsgroup. But I am getting really sick of seeing stupid attacks in a group that is for discussing operating systems. Take the falmes to private mail or alt.flame, but get them out of here. ...ken seefried iii ken@gatech.edu
