[comp.os.misc] POSIX info, where?

sbw@naucse.UUCP (Steve Wampler) (09/29/89)

Would some kind soul point me towards a definitive description of
the POSIX standard? A colleague of mine is working on a new OS
and would like to see if he can make the system calls POSIX compliant.

Email preferred, thanks!

Steve-

I posted this publicly 'cause I thought it was of general interest.

The IEEE published a book entitled:

			  IEEE Standard
		Portable Operating System Interface
		    for Computer Environments
			(ISBN 1-55937-003-3)

It describes the IEEE Std 1003.1-1988 POSIX Standard.
