I need some information about sound generator chips. Basically, I would like to know what is generally available. I know of the TI chip (SN76477 Complex Sound Generator) and the GI chip (AY-3-8912 Programmable Sound Generator). I also have some information from a company called (I believe) Microtechnology for Music who produce a line of bipolar VCOs, VCAs and VCFs (featured in the Profit line of synthesizers from Sequential Circuits). I would like any information I could get about other chips, such as the Sound Interface Device used in the C64. The specific implementation I am looking at involves direct interface to an 8-bit micro, but any information about any sound generators (directly uP compatible or not) would be of interest.
