We will be doing a system that is going to be needing a real-time OS. The hardware is proprietary, though based on a standard processor, and the requirements somewhat general, though there are some known limits. (The real-time part *is* specified; it is the rest that is general.) This is a *small* system, not something that will support Unix. :-) We are in the process of defining the OS, but I think we should also look at existing OS's, either because they can be ported to our platform, or because studying their interfaces would help us avoid design errors. Anway, I'd be interested in information (names, phone numbers, etc.) about products, specifications, and freely distributable systems that might be worth looking up.
