It's the most efficient way to do simple tasks that deal with moving bytes of data, such as copying and modifying files. It allows the most sophisticated interfacing with the CP/M operating system, which is itself written in assembly language. Many of the public domain programs on SIMTEL20 are written in assembly language. To learn more about 8080 assembly language, review the tutorial contained in this ARK.
