[net.wanted] Legal Access to MIT-ML

davidk@dartvax.UUCP (David C. Kovar) (02/06/84)

When I arrived in NH to go to college, I bid a fond farewell
to my MIT-ML (MIT's Math Lab machine, on the ARPANET) account as
I could find no way to get to it. At one point I managed to go
through Telenet to Multics to SomeotherNet to ML, but I lost my
account on MULTICS and that link died.

Right now, I would be happy to get at it in any way, long
distance phone calls included, but I would like to do it legally.
I realize that DOD controls the net, but does anyone know if I can
access MIT-ML directly? (Short of going to Boston?) Better question,
does ML still exist and what is the status of MIT-ML, MIT-DM, MIT-MC,
and MIT-AI? (AI died, I heard.) Any information at all would be
helpful. Thanks in advance.
