FILINK is yet another variation on the XMODEM theme, but has its own idiosyncracies. As far as I know--and I tried to find out some time ago when they were still "supporting" the machine in the US--Epson was never willing to release the details of the protocol. They did distribute versions of the software for one of their desktop CP/M machines, for at least one of their PC clones, and for the IBM PC itself. The latter never worked, at least in the copy I got; I can't speak for the others. Two suggestions: There is a version of CP/M kermit set up for the PX-8 which works well as long as you don't try transferring large files to and from the optional diskette drive. And there is another program that Epson sells, called "Geneva Connection" or something like that in the US, which supports XMODEM and does so reasonably well. FILINK seems to be mostly a write-off.
