Has anyone produced some generally useful INGRES enhancements, such as an interactive data entry subsystem, or a screen interface / relations editor or a forms package or other nicer user interfaces ? We would be starting with the INGRES distributed with 4.2BSD. I know much of these enhancements to INGRES are available in the commercial version of INGRES offered by Relational Technology. Does anyone actually use the non-commercial version of INGRES distributed in 4.2BSD ? Are there any known problems (and fixes) to this version ? Any similar caliber UNIX DBM that someone would recommend in its stead ? How is POLARIS doing these days ? Thanks, Dan Ts'o ...cmcl2!rna!dan
