I am looking for information about fast charging NiCad batteries. I understand it is possible to recharge NiCads in 15 minutes to 1 hour, if certain precautions are taken to avoid overcharging and overheating. My questions are: 1) how much current should be used to fast charge? (10 times the 16 hous rate, or what??) 2) how is the charging time determined?? (strictly on a time basis? by measuring the terminal voltage with a constant current source?) 3) is a constant current source used for the charger? ( or constant voltage, or some combination?) What questions should I have asked that I didn't?? Thanks for any help. ----------------------- James Van Ornum, AT&T Bell Laboratories, inhp4!houxu!jhv
