Well, I've decided not to go the hard disk route quite yet because of lack of money. But, I'd like to know what one has to do to change from 8" drives to 5.25" drives on the Xerox 820-II? Could it be as simple as just rewiring the cables for the correct pinouts on the 5.25" drives? (In which case I have ready access to a case and power supply that I can move everything into). Or is it a lot more, ie. software changes so that the computer will correctly access the 5.25" drives? And finally, barring any of the above, does anyone have a pair of 5.25" drives for an 820-II that they might consider selling, cheaply? Thanks for your help all. -- Andrew Orndorff CIT, Research & Analysis Cornell University Internet: bqsy1@vax5.cit.cornell.edu Bitnet: bqsy1@crnlvax5

Nope, the software will recognize either. > And finally, barring any of the above, does anyone have a pair of >5.25" drives for an 820-II that they might consider selling, cheaply? Any old pair of 5.25" 360K double sided drives will do it nicely, but you might contact Mike Sprague, sprague.wbst311@xerox.com, and see if he has anything.
