Mix C for CP/M is a victim of terminal neglect. It does more things wrong than right. While the MSDOS version has undergone many revisions in the past year, the CP/M version remains virtually untouched. All sorts of problems with blanks, unexpected reserved words, undocumented error codes, runtime anomalies, etc. Forget trying to port any non-trivial program to Mix C, you're wasting your time. Frank Prindle Prindle@NADC.arpa PS. I'd be glad to sell my Mix C compiler/book to any sucker who'd give me $39 for it:-}

Message-ID: <EC593BC31F3FA008AC@ucs.uwplatt.edu> Hello everyone, Some time ago someone on this newsgroup mentioned a C compiler by MIX Software for cp/m. Does anyone know if this compiler is still available? As I recall, the package was around $25US and included a book on C, does anyone have any other details to share? Your assistance is appreciated. Lance Tagliapietra taglance@ucs.uwplatt.edu or taglance@uwplatt ======================== ======================== Hello Lance, yes I'm the one with the MIX C compiler (CP/M version) for sale. Yes, it includes and excellent C tutorial in the 430 page manual. The price is $20.00 plus $5.00 for S&H (UPS ground in the continental US). I will quote shipping charges to other areas. The MIX C compiler is a full K & R implementation of the C language. The system requirements are: CP/M-80 (2.0 or higher) 55K memory 2 disk drives (or HD) Z80 CPU I can install the software on many UNIFORM supported 5.25", CP/M disk formats, but the only ones that I can test are TeleVideo and 360K IBM formats. If you can transfer the files from one of those, I suggest you order in that format. I can also arrange for you to download the software from my BBS. Feel free to send e-mail or call for additional information. Take care. ### -- Ed Grey \*\ Sysop of The Grey Matter BBS & RCP/M 213-971-6260 P.O. Is MIX C still available? Can it be gotten via mail-order or does it have to be bought from the manufacturer? Any information about where to get it or comments about the compiler are welcome. Ben Wildasin Internet: bwildasi@silver.ucs.indiana.edu *************************************** Ben, Yes, MIX C compiler is still available and you can get it from me. The price is $20.00 plus $5.00 S&H for either the CP/M or the IBMPC version or $30.00 for both. The manual alone is well worth the price. If you're interested in ordering or for additional info, contact me at any address below. Take care. ### -- Ed Grey \*\ Sysop of The Grey Matter BBS & RCP/M 213-971-6260 P.O.
