A few questions, a few answers... First, we just recieved our JAFCO catalog recently. In it is a color composite monitor from Magnavox for $179.92. It is Model #CM8502. Is it com- parable to the CM8 as far as resolution? As far as I'm concerned, if I'm going to blow my dough, I'd rather spend a bit more on a better monitor. Also, I've gotten info from a member of the family that there is a Magnavox at a computer store around here that's $250 or so, and its RGB. Any guesses or suggestions? Second, I'm just getting going in AL programming, and I wondered if any- one would like to swap programs (soure code) or routines... Thirdly, I'm going to list a few of the neato features that Microware slipped into the new toy, and a couple others. You've probably heard many of these, but-- Hold CTRL-ALT, and hit the reset key.. Type WIDTH 40:CLS 9.. Type WIDTH 40:CLS 9:CLS 100.. Hold F1 during power-up for alternate color set..(blue is red...) Who says the RS232 Pak doesn't work on the 3? To run the built-in (bleah) software, use EXEC &HE010.. The GIME chip can handle the double-speed mode now, (POKE65497,0 or POKE &HFFD9,0) and it makes many games absolutely fabulous! Your turn... Lastly, I have my copy of that little posting on the new CoCo III features. As I understand it, upon power-up, my CoCo is mapped so that the addresses from $70000-$7FFFF appear at $0000-$FFFF, and $8000-$DFFF are ROMs. Also, is it true that the ROMs are copied to RAM, $78000-$7DFFF? (Sooo, they're changeable? Hmm! possibilities..) -- ----- --- . . --- ,--. .--. -- . --- . . @@@@@@ Jon Howell @@@@@ | |- |_/ | |__/ | | | \ | | \/ | | | \ | | \ | | | \ | | /\ Staring contest: (-: :-) | |__ | \ | | \ \__/ | \| _|_ / \ Ignore these four words.
