HELP!!!!!!!!!!! I just bought an upgrade to a terminal program that claimed it would recognize and use an RS232 PAK. This was all the ad said, but when I received the upgrade, the instructions said to put the RS232 in the slot next to the drive card in the multipak. PROBLEM: My RS232 and drive card are on a Y-cable. I do not have a multipak. The RS232 has pin 8 cut and the useless Shack Program rom pulled out to allow it to function on the Y-cable with the drive card. It works fine on Mikey Term and Greg Miller's new Greg-E-Term, but the above mentioned program will not recognize or use the RS232!!! Can anyone PLEASE give me an answer as to how I can fool the program into thinking the RS232 card is in the slot on the multipak. The program is highly protected so I can not break in to tell it to go to the RS232 card. The source of my problems==> AUTO TERM 5.0 If anyone can help, I would REALLY appreciate it. Thanks in advance... Richard Bourassa University of Denver

If interrupts are required (possibly also how the PAK is detected as present..), then you have disabled them. Pin 8 is tied to the IRQ line of the 6551 chip, and I believe to the CART line on the bus.. -- Pete Lyall Usenet: {trwrb, scgvaxd, ihnp4, voder, vortex}!wlbr!wlbreng1!pete Compuserve: 76703,4230 (OS9 SIG Sysop) OS9 (home): (805)-985-0632 (24hr./1200 baud) Phone: (818)-706-5693 (work 9-5 PST) ----------------------------------------------------------------------
