Right, do not cut the FIRQ pin out of the RS232 Pak. Unlike those cheezy game paks, the RS232 does NOT tie FIRQ to the Clock so as to auto-start on power up. Instead, from BASIC you must EXEC &HC000 to run the firmware in the Pak. Of course any terminal program or OS9 code ignores that stuff in the ROM anyway. Yes, you were right to pull the ROM out, tho that should not be necessary if your program sets up the MultiPak correctly.
