[comp.sys.m6809] Questions about old CoCo stuff

john@moncol.UUCP (01/26/87)

Just a couple of questions regarding older CoCo products and services-

1) Does anybody have an address I might be able to order issues of the old
COLOR COMPUTER MAGAZINE from? Since this was (before its demise) a
Ziff-Davis publication, I assume they maintain some central service.

2) Looking through old magazines, I noticed that there was a period around
'84 where a couple of companies manufactured Z80 co-processor paks to allow
the CoCo to run CP/M software. While it may seem a bit silly, I was
wondering if these beasts might still be available these days (and if so,
from whom)? (No flames please, I find it an amusing pastime to run CP/M on
machines it was never intended for. I routinesly run CP/M emulation on my
Tandy 1000.)

3) Has anyone tried to run an X-Pad (remember those?) on a CoCo 3?
Obviously, you would need a MultiPak because of the 12v needed, but is it
otherwise compatable (no ghosts, etc.)?

Thanks in advance...

(On a side note- several months ago, I posted a message requesting help
with a CoCo II that would not work with disks. I received several replies
suggesting that the CPU chip might be bad. Since I ahd already purchased
another machine, I did not get a chance to try this until a few weeks ago.
Replacing the 6809 did the trick- thanks to all who replied.)
