[comp.sys.m6809] OS9 LEVEL 2: I

megabyte@chinet.UUCP (02/04/87)

When I bought my copy of the CoCo version of Rogue, imagine my
surprise whne I typed in "DOS" and it came up OS9 LEVEL II!!!!!!

This is the first CoCo III software that Tandy has released, or maybe I
just got a copy that "slipped" out of the warehouse.

More info as I test my level one programs and try verious other stuff.
I do know that display and dir are builtin to the os9 L2 boot file.

Becareful, here... We've gotten a copy of Rogue, too, and it DOES
have Level II. HOWEVER, this is NOT the exact same Level II that
will be released by Tandy as the Level II package.

Memory specs, etc., are different, and not all of the package is
included in Rogue.

In addition, to REALLY run Level II (or even Rogue, for that matter),
you'll need 512K. There just isn't enough memory left to do beans
with 128K and Level II, but under 512K, the package is incredible.

Does anyone have a 512K board that they would recommend? I was
looking into Speech System's one. Comments?

Re 512K boards--I bought the CRC 512K board for my CoCo III (assembled,
since I'm highly fumble-fingered), and it went right in and worked like
the proverbial charm. It's $129 assembled. I don't work for them or
get money from them or anything--honest! :-)
