Just got my copy of OS9 Level II, tried it out and it didn't work. After much poking around I found out that it was failing because my disk controller couldn't handle 2MHz. Now I know I've heard warnings about running at 2MHz under OS9 level I but I thought level II was going to have code in the disk driver to slow it down whenever it accessed the disks. As it stands the only way I got this thing to run was to use my level I system to zap out the speedup "pokes" on my level II system disk. So now I have a running level II system but at 1MHz. I could have sworn Tandy promised that all I had to do was put in the PAL upgrade in my multipak and I would be all set. Mark, take your controller in for service. I've booted and run Level II OS-9 successfully with the *original* Radio Shack disk controller (yes, the very first series!) as well as the latest disk controller (the short stubby one). I haven't tried it with the Disto controller yet because I'm taking my Disto apart for modification(s), but I have no doubt that it'll work. There's no reason why you should have a problem with the 2 mHz. if you're controller is within spec.
