Thanks to one and all who replied to my query about the problems I encountered with a homebrew 6551 circuit and kermit. I have discovered since posting the original question that I am partially to blame for the problems I encountered. In order to keep the /T3 device from being de-initialized everytime kermit exited a send or receive and subsequently dropping the modem connection when DTR went low, I had to iniz the device prior to entering kermit. I have found now that I can make the drives stop by deiniz'ing the device and doing one more disk access (such as DIR). It appears as though there is some signal that never gets passed through kermit cus the device is iniz'ed. This is only conjecture because I am a rank amateur about OS9 ( but I'm learning!). Thanks again Clay
