[comp.sys.m6809] Tandy's Support for CoCo

EWTILENI@pucc.Princeton.EDU (Eric Tilenius) (11/22/87)

Now that OS-9 Level II and Multi-Vue are out, Tandy is beginning to see
itself that the CoCo 3 is not only a good bang for the buck, but a powerful
tool in any sense.

In the latest Tandy User Group Newsletter, I begin to see inklings that even
Director of Marketing Ed Juge was impressed when he saw all the multitasking
and different applications running at once.

They're planning a big CoCo 3 campaign this Christmas - let's just hope they
don't advertise it as a toy!

Nevertheless, you can't expect them to advertise it as a business computer.
No established firm would buy one for that purpose. The CoCo 3 is a HOME
computer, and, sure it might be better for running the family business than
an IBM, and cheaper, but big firms aren't going to want them around.

The key is to stress power & price that the whole family can use.

No, I don't expect the CoCo 3 to be around in TEN years. I do expect it to
be around in three years, though, and I expect predicessors that will
improve on its performance.
