Since we all know that our favorite Operating System is OS9, what ever happened to OSs 1 through 8? Will there ever be an OS10? Apply smileys topically! Will there ever be an OS10? <with fake bedraggled beard and imitating Grandpa> Well, you know, once upon a time around 1980 or so there was (almost) an OS-1. A company called Electrolabs was selling it for the Z-80. It was supposed to be a Unix-like OS. A friend of mine had, I believe, a prelim- inary copy once. There was also an OS-6, written by Christopher Strachey, I believe. Now, of course, there's OS/2--perhaps that's a short form for OS-1/2. :-) James Jones
