[comp.sys.m6809] SCSI hard disk system

harmon@abvax.UUCP (Larry Harmon) (03/02/88)

I would like to purchase a complete SCSI/SASI external hard disk
subsystem, but I am having trouble finding a vendor. What I'm looking for
is a 10 or 20 Meg hard disk drive with case and power supply. The drive
can be imbedded SCSI or use an SCSI to st502 conversion board. The drive
may be 5 1/4 or 3 1/2.
Anyone know where to purchase such a beast?

I might be wrong about this, but I beleive both the Owl-Ware (which a
lot of people seem to have had good results with) and the Disto
systems are SCSI/SASI. Also, check with Frank Hogg, since their recent
Rainbow ad had some interesting-looking hard disk buys.

I have had good luck with the Burke and Burke adapter that plugs into the
multi-pak and then using the Computer Shopper to locate a vendor for an XT
style hard disk (I got a 30meg ST-238 for $299) and a PS and case (about
$100). Total cost was under $500 for a 30meg system. 120,000 sectors.
